Granola, Apple & Cherry Crisp

Apple slices and cherry fruit filling bubble together in this quick-to-prepare crumble-style pud. It’s delicious hot or cold.

Ingredient List

  • Small check mark in a circle 385 g tin apple slices (see Tip)
  • Small check mark in a circle 410 g tin red cherry fruit filling
For the topping
  • Small check mark in a circle 12 Nature Valley™ Crunchy Oats & Honey Snack Bars, roughly crushed
  • Small check mark in a circle 75 g plain flour
  • Small check mark in a circle 100 g unsalted butter, melted
  • Small check mark in a circle 25 g flaked almonds
To serve

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 4. Mix the apple slices and cherry pie filling in a 2-litre ovenproof baking dish.
  2. Stir together the crushed granola bars, flour and butter in a mixing bowl until crumbly. Stir in the almonds. Sprinkle evenly over the fruit.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the fruit is bubbling and piping hot. Serve hot or cold with scoops of ice cream or spoonfuls of yogurt.

Tips

  • To easily crush the granola bars with a rolling pin, pound the unopened pouches until the bars are broken into smaller pieces.
    You can use fresh apple slices instead of tinned. Simply peel, core and slice 3-4 eating apples.
